Looks like business-minded RIM are exploring a new form factor. A novel flip phone is expected to be officially unveiled in the coming weeks. Live photos of the first-ever clamshell by RIM leaked at BoyGeniousReport. Codenamed Kickstart, the newcomer is likely to get launched by the end of 2008.

RIM BlackBerry Kickstart
With specs still to come on the record, some BGR leaked images should do for a taster. TrackBall navigation and the proprietary SureType keypad look the right BlackBerry purists stuff. The form factor is another story. The clamshell features a secondary external display and will be among the imaging-enabled BlackBerry devices.
Stay tuned as we hope the Kickstart will pick up the pace and go on the record.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1
By admin | May 10, 2008
The highly discussed Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 PocketPC based on Windows Mobile 6.1 finally got closer to the public thanks to a video preview, which became available today.
Just as a refresher the high-end X1 has a 3-inch WVGA touchscreen display (800 x 480 pixels), as well as the optical joystick navigation - the navigation solution is cool and you can see that on video.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1
Almost all connectivity features are present on the Sony Ericsson X1 - from a 3.5mm audio jack to GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP, everything is on board.
Typing is sweet with the slide-out QWERTY keyboard, while the 9 available home screens should suit every scenario and all user preferences. The multimedia set includes FM radio without RDS and Media player.
The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 also has a 3.2 megapixel camera and will come with 400MB of internal storage available to the user. It is expandable through the microSD card slot.
The handset will have support for all the four GSM network bands and four 3G network bands as well. HSDPA and HSUPA ensure the quickest data transfers around.
Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 will be powered by a Qualcomm 7200A 528MHz CPU and has 128MB of RAM. Unfortunately, as you would see from the video, the X1 desperately cries for some dedicated video acceleration.

Sony Ericsson T303
By admin | May 5, 2008
A sexy minimalist slider, Sony Ericsson T303 gives the low-end a new edge with looks and construction well above its rank. Even if not a full-house in terms of skill and style, the basic multimedia coverage and solid feel in hand are well worth it. The FM radio with RDS, MP3 player and the 1.3 megapixel camera make sure the T303 will be kept busy. After all, many will likely find it too sexy for a call-and-text device only. The smooth sliding, the sharp chrome-highlighted exterior and the diminutive size are still the undoubted winners when it comes to the attraction of Sony Ericsson T303. Way beyond any of the features it offers.

Sony Ericsson T303 views
Sony Ericsson T303 is definitely a phone for those who don’t want to give too much thought to what pocket to put it in. With its dimensions of 83 x 47 x 14.7 mm it will fit even in the smallest of pockets. There are virtually a handful of phones currently on the market to come close to T303 in terms of compact size.

Its excellent build quality and solid feel in hand are strong advantages, considering how low-end phones usually suffer in both design and quality of materials used.
